Making an appearance at the annual reject Jesus ritual implies that we still have respect for the Watchtower Cult.

i was recently talking to a friend that's a former jw, and she argued that there are just as many women that live at bethel as there are men.
admittedly, we're both slightly ignorant on the subject, since neither of us have actually lived at or even visited bethel.
i've made the assumption that there are significantly more men than women at bethel, am i correct?.

Former Bethelites, giving a rough estimate, what was the ratio of men to women at Bethel while you were there?
today, my wife went to labcorp to take a pre-employment drug screening.
she doesnt have a driver's license, so i took her.. in the waiting room, with the magazines were a copy of atalaya (watchtower) and despertad (awake).
it'd be nice to think they were left by a jw who decided then and there that she'd had enough of the lies, but from what i gathered on jwn, it was probably a lazy publisher counting it as perpetual service hours.. anyway, on the back of both, i left the message "for more information about jehovah's witnesses please google candace conti.".
I do the same thing when I encounter Watchtower publications.
Politely writing, "For more information about Jehovah's Witnesses please visit JWFACTS.COM" on the cover accomplishes a lot more than simply throwing them in the recycling bin.
1. thirty-nine percent of adults who make more than $100,000 have used entitlement benefits at one point, compared with 70 percent of people who make less than $30,000, according to the pew study.. 2.. the average monthly food stamp benefit is $133.42 for an individual, according to the department of agriculture, which administers the program.
the rate is highest in hawaii ($213.65) and lowest in minnesota ($115.98).
in fiscal year 2012, 46.6 million people (in 22.3 million households) received food stamps, and the federal government spent $74.6 billion on the program that year.. 3. .
I do not know if Romney had won the presidency, all those entittlements would have been slashed or eliminated altogether.
Since you started the thread, I'm curious about your opinion on the subject. Are you in favor of eliminating any of the entitlement programs? Which ones, and why?
going for a word by word bible reading/study with a jw, no literature involved and maybe using more than one versions.
is that a wise move and is there any advantage?.
The Watchtower Corporation has been refining their indoctrination techniques for decades, so be very careful. I'm not implying that individual JW's have an insidious agenda to recruit you into the cult, they're simply doing what they're told. They merely use the indoctrination techniques the Watchtower teaches them.
I strongly recommend that you read "Combatting Cult Mind Control" by Steven Hassan. You can get it used off Amazon.com for a very reasonable price, the information it contains is priceless. It will help you understand the mindset of JW's.
JWfacts is also a great resource to find out what the Watchtower really teaches. http://www.jwfacts.com/
not sure how to approach this but here goes.....my wife discovered a porn site on the computer tonight.
yes, i was going to them, and i was foolish to think i could never get caught.
i have been visiting them for some years, not a daily problems, but occasionaly every month or so - still a problem wethere its once or a hundred times.
Is your wife outraged at the pornography, or merely the act of masturbating?
I think you're both blowing it way out of proportion, it's not that big of a deal. Let her cool off for a while.

They're professional trolls; don't let their behavior upset you too much.
the recent socal rain storms had me needing to go to a launrdomat to dry some clothes.
so i get inside and see that one of the friendly neighborhood jehovah's witnesses has left a little dish of spiritual food.
being the benevolent soul that i am, i took my handy pen and added some additional spice to the bland spiritual food offered by the watchtower.. .
I love it. Much more effective than throwing them in the trash.
a. douchebag.. http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/huckabee-schools-place-of-carnage-because-we-systematically.
former arkansas governor mike huckabee attributed the mass shooting at sandy hook elementary school in part to restrictions on school prayer and religious materials in the classroom.
"we ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed god from our schools," huckabee said on fox news, discussing the murder spree that took the lives of 20 children and 6 adults in newtown, ct that morning.
There were many ways Huckabee could have approached the "Why did God allow this?" question. I can't believe he blamed it on the lack of prayer in public schools. What a douche. You would think that as a pastor, Huckabee would've been able to offer a more comforting answer to the parents and loved ones of the people killed. The odds are that most of the parents are Christians, who do pray to God, and haven't removed God from their lives. I wonder if Huckabee has any idea how offensive his response is to those parents.
Is there any evidence to support the claim that Jones was a CIA operative?
